I have a PPC G5 Dual 2.0 and need a stouter vid card. Right now I have a GeForce 6600 256 MB but it can't handle X-Plane. Is there a 512 card or am I stuck? Thanks

Look for either a Radeon X1900, a GeForce 7800GT, or if you're really lucky, a Quadro FX4500. All of which are much more powerful cards.

More like one of these (The Mac Edition is necessary if you dont want to have to mess with flashing the ROMs etc) http://www.google.com/products/catalog?hl=en&q=radeon+x1900&client=firefox-a&sqi=2&cid=15827126317383578610&ei=vtLjTN37B6eQywW0yNyqAw&sa=image&ved=0CB0Q8gI#

Except that is only 256-the NVIDIA 6600 I have is a 256 MB. Is there not a 512 Card made to work with OS X? I've found that they have to be for OS X and I don't have the capability or knowledge to flash one.

You seem awful set on having 512MB of RAM. Why? RAM isn't always going to make it a better card. For example, the G5 version of the X1900 is almost 20% faster than the 6600 you've got now, and its still 256MB.

Newton do u have PCI -X or PCI-E mac??

that's the question. the 2x2GHz cam in 4 generations. but since he has the GeForce 6600 it seems to be the PCIe one. The older 2x2GHz generations were AGP.

compare and click on full specs: http://www.everymac.com/ultimate-mac-comparison-chart/?compare=all-g3-g4-g5-intel-macs

a list of usable video cards can be found here: go to the bottom of the page and choose the guide that fits your Mac http://www.jcsenterprises.com/Japamacs_Page/Graphics_Cards.html
