I have Retina MBP and 1920×1080 mp4 video files.

Even if i view video as fit to screen or full screen, i don't see all the little details in video.

Is there any app or trick to select region (crop) in video and zoom to it and then play that video?

I just opened VLC and it has aspect ratio and crop but both just crop default sizes and don't allow to choose what area in video window i want to see zoomed.

I don't consider VLC or QuickTime to be editors (that may just be me), but you can do basic stuff with them. If you have iMovie or FCP, they have a crop to fit edit function. You would create a project, drop your video in it, apply whatever editing you desire (both of those have crop drag handles so you can size to whatever you want). If you zoom too much you will lose too much resolution. You can view the results in the project window, or export the video for use elsewhere. If thats what you are looking for.
