Hi (great site this!!)
I was tryiing out some of the features of the new version (v7) of MacX Video Converter Pro.
The good general reputation and thr possibility to download/convert directly from youtube prompt me to try it.
Have any of you ever used it ?
I've discovered what is for me a strong limit but possibility I'm doing in the wrong way.
Briefly:
1) search in youtube for video of interest, selecting HQ format
2) the video displayed is shown as 720p. low res options are however present within the same url.
3) copy the url into videoconverter/youtube.
4)start the download/conversion after selecting the "keep the original size" option,
5) the mp4 I obtain is not of a comparable quality than FLV and the res is 420p.
After checking the original FLV "fished out" I do understand that the file actually downloaded was 420p and not the expected 720p.
I would have expected that the program would have been able to do what, Savevid (http://www.savevid.com/#envio) does. You insert the youtube link, it displays all the possible Res associated to that link, and then you start to download at the res you prefer.
BTW
worth to be mentioned that the test has been made on a video for sure not covered by copyright issue.
A radio interview to Avril Lavigne of good quality

Am I doing something wrong?
thanks in advance for your help.
