Videos crashing on new iMac

I just recieved my new iMac today. I used the setup assistant deal to transfer information from my iBook. Most everything seems to be working fine, but iTunes crashes everytime I try to open a video file. Also, if I try to open a video file in Quicktime, that crashes too. Any suggestions?

The problem seems to have been that the version of Quicktime on the computer wasn't the most up to date. Everything's working fine now,
