Videos in iTunes lag

Sometimes when i watch movies in iTunes (avi mp4 and so on) it laggs with my new UMBP! But why? When i search for the file in finder and open it with quicktime player it plays well! And it's only standard definiton! I have watched HD movies on it too, and there weren't any problems with that!

Are there a reason for it?
