Good Evening All,

I've noticed on my Imac that some movies are slow to load for me to play. They appear straight away but take a good while to buffer whilst others can be played straight away. What is the reasons for this and is there anything I can do? Your help would be appreciated.

What exact Mac with what exact Mac OS X version do you use?

Identify your Mac and Mac OS X version using this 25 second video tutorial (3MB, .mp4, H.264)

What video player software does this happen in and what is/are the format(s) the video(s) is/are in?

Hi thanks for the quick reply. It is version 10.6.7 and iMac12,1. It usually happens with wmv files in quicktime player.

That is normal, as .wmv files are not native to QT Player, thus they need to buffer. VLC Player can handle .wmv files faster, if that is what you are after.

Thanks very much. Being rather new to mac I thought it best to ask. I had thought that it was normal but wanted to double check. Again thanks for your help.
