Hi all,
ever since my purchase of mba 2011, I fell in love for the snappiness and portability it provides. Never have I looked back to my mbp lol. However, the only downside is that it couldn't drive games even on lowest setting on a 23" monitor. After some searches, it looks like we got some hope. It comes across to me that Villagetronic is developing Vidock G4 Micro, which will be compatibile to thunderbolt macbook air at a pretty low price. I just wanna share this because I know a lot people transition from mbp to mba and miss the discrete graphic card it provides.

P.S. I do not work for Villagetronic, I just want to share this idea to the beloved macrumors community

I have to say, although I do not currently use a MBA, I am also excited about this. My wife uses a MBA that I have to envy every day. When these things release, it will be very hard for me to not trade in my MBP for a new MBA and ViDock combo.

The biggest limitation with this type of technology is the inability to drive the inbuilt display which sort of forces you to use an external monitor.

Very true, although, my desired use would still be interesting. Get rid of a laptop and PC, replace it all with a very light MBA for portable use with a nice desktop GPU/monitor combo for gaming at home.
