Is this just like installing a graphics card in your MBP?

Like the ViDock + GeForce GTX 580 on MBP would run pretty good right?

1) You can use ViDock with Macbook Pro 1,2 or 4 gen only.
The newest are 8 gen (8,1 8,2 and 8,3)

2) Because of ExpressCard's bandwidth limitation (5Gb/s) the performance will be poor.
