I have video from a surveillance camera with an .mjp extension. Is there any way it can be viewed or converted on a Mac? I have tried VLC and MPlayer for viewing, and Handbrake and Adapter for conversion. iMovie and Final Cut Pro will not import it. Thanks for any help.

Unfortunately, most software of old type use their encryption system and hence extensions for surveillance footage. As far as I've seen this question on forums never getting proper answers, I assume my friend you're not getting any either. What about emulating Win (or what you have) on Mac if you need those recordings so badly? And for God's sake, get a newer surveillance software that doesn't let you down like this. There are few software solutions for Mac and even fewer reliable ones but I use Xeoma (google the name to check it) and I totally love it!
hope this will be of help, good luck

Thanks for the helpful reply. This was video provided by another source. It's surprising how many people pay for surveillance, but wind up with video that is almost unusable.
