Make a smart playlist that shows songs added within the last week (or whatever duration of time). Sync that playlist with your iPhone. This is the same method that your iPod used to use.

on a side note, when you have a playlist, does that double the songs on your iphone? say i have 1000 songs on my iphone and then have the same 1000 songs in a playlist, would my iphone account for 2000 songs or 2000X3.4mb's of music?

so then can you have no music on your iphone, just playlist? cause what im getting at does a playlist double the space used or does it just format a list of the songs on your phone into a order sequence.
