Viewing .3g2 video on iphone 3G

My friend is shocked that i cant receive video messaging from him on my "so expensive" iphone as he says it. So i added my email to his contact info so he can send it that way from his phone. This works i get the email and open it in mail on the iphone. The video file is there and in .3g2 format. It will not open in the media player. Is there any workaround for this? IS there a way to save this attachment to the iphone and open it another way. I want to be able to do this from the iphone in case i am mobile when i get a video from him. I am jailbroken with a iphone 3g running 2.0.2.

Check the media section in Cydia, there is a media player there that claims to play all kinds of formats. Might be worth checking out
