Viewing animated GIFs?

A friend sent me an animated GIF in my gmail, but I can only see the first frame in my iPhone. Is there no way to view them?

The only way to view animated .gifs right now is in Safari. host it on a site like photobucket.com and then send the link via email. When you tap the link in your email, Safari will load and the animation will play.

Save the gif to your camera roll, then go to send it via email. One it starts composing the email, and inserts the gif it will start to play!
