viewing attachments?

what do i need in order to view microsoft office documents on my ihpone?

can they be edited??

and if they are downloaded are they just an icon on the phone? or can you make a folder?

On my iPhone 1.1.4 (jailbroken, unlocked) then I can read common email attachments including Word, Excel, PDF, JPG, etc. They are icons in the email that open on single touch, readable, but I don't think editable.

you open the email with mail, then open the attachment

does it have to be through "mail"? i have hotmail and cant set up "mail". but when i log into hotmail on the iphone and cant see a link for an attachment that is on the email.....

thats the problem with hotmail
