It works for me.What I meant is this:
If say I use Icon view set to Name, then view in List, I'd expect to see the same Name arrangement but its not. I will see other arrangement besides Name. I have to right click and set to Name again in List.
Try it out.
It works for me.
- I go to Icon View
- I choose Keep Arranged By: Name
- All icons are sorted by Name
- I go to List View
- I click on the Size column to sort by Size
- I go back to Icon View
- Everything is still sorted by Name
No, a sort doesn't carry over to all views. If you sort by Name in Icon View, it doesn't change List View. List View will be sorted the way you last sorted it, or by the default sort. That's not what I want:
1. I go to Icon View
2. I choose Keep Arranged By: Name
3. All icons are sorted by Name
4. I go to List View, I'd expect the arrangement remains sorted by Name but it is arranged by any means other than Name

Not necessarily. It's purely a matter of personal preference. I can see wanting Icon View for pictures to be sorted one way and List View for documents to be sorted another. In fact, the only time I use Icon View is when browsing image files.Ah, that confirms my findings. I know you're not the designer, but do you agree it should be carry over to other views? If we set to Name, logically that's the way we like to see regardless whatever view. No?
Anyone concur?
