Viewing videos (avi divx files) with Quicktime?

Hi,

How do I view videos with Quicktime? I'm talking about the main formats such as avi files and divx files. Everytime I try to read these files, Quicktime says it doesn't recognise the format or the file extension.

I have Quicktime latest version but I guess I have to download some codecs but dont know where to look...

Can anybody help?
