Hi, I've been hanging onto this large format vinyl banner for 15 years, and since I've never had a good place to display it I think it's time to sell it.

I got it from a computer store I worked for at the time, and it measures 50x118 inches. It is the one with Picasso in a striped shirt. condition-wise it is not unblemished, but it looks very good.

The condition issues are as follows:

-It's got some feint squiggly lines to the right of Pablo's face. I don't know how it got those, and frankly I'm not entirely sure they aren't part of the image.
-It's got some staples at the top, that that were part of how it was originally hung.
-It's got some small and barely detectable push-pin holes from when I had it hung on the wall of my first apartment (it's ten feet long, and my apartment had an 8 foot ceiling, so the bottom portion stayed rolled)
-It's got some minor denting on the left side from leaving it stored rolled and upright for a time, but those are barely noticeable when rolled out flat on the floor, and probably less so if hung.
-On the back on the top edge it has some of the red blemished, as a result of using tape to keep it from unraveling during a move.

I'm not trying to sell it here (although I'll entertain offers), but I would like some information and pricing guidance (such as information on what previous such items have sold for, and how condition will effect that). I've looked all over the internet, and I can't find one like it for sale to compare, only a couple expired items that don't list what they sold for.

Any help would be appreciated!

These are pretty rare and hard to find. They were hung up in the Apple stores and most of them were just disposed of. It would be hard to put a price but I would say between the 100-150$ mark

well I hope I can get more than that for it then, cause if they're that rare then it sounds like I'm likely to end up watching an episode of Antiques Roadshow 20 years from now and feeling real stupid for letting it go for just $150. it that's really all I can get for it now, then I'd just as soon wait for it to appreciate.

I'm deffinitely seeing higher prices than $150 for some of the smaller, seemingly more common ones. There's a 24x36 Thomas Edison that sold for $395 on ebay, a Ted turner of the same size ($350), a Lucy and Desi of the same size ($250), an 11x17 Einstein for 200, and so on.

but the only one of comparable size on ebay right now is an unsold 12 foot Muhammad Ali with a by now price of 10k, which I have to think is nothing but wishful thinking as far as price goes. But man, if it actually sells for that, that would really have to change my expectations.

Still, even with that information I'm still left with a lot of guess work as to what I should expect, cause I can't find a price for this of in this size, nor any others from it's series. $600 seems doable. maybe an auction with a $400 reserve, and see where it goes?

The Think Different campaign pre-dates Apple Stores. They were likely hung from the ceiling in CompUSA's Apple sections that they had in the back of the store. Many CompUSA employees were openly hostile towards Apple users and considered Macs overpriced toys which makes it not surprising that they were so quick to chuck them.

speaking as a former CompUSA employee (which is where I got mine), we weren't openly hostile, just openly dismissive and patronizing. but I don't think anybody didn't like the posters... other than the manager who had to answer the late night false alarms from the store security system that they set off.

The vinyl banners are very rare. Putting a value on them is difficult because of their rarity they aren't bought/sold very often. I know I've seen the 50x50 ones sell for $100 and $1000. If you really want to sell it, you're best bet would probably be to list it on the high end($1000?) and then adjust based on offers. In the end, I would expect a couple hundred but who knows if there isn't some guy who really wants a large banner.

3 Bus Stop posters

Hi,

I have three Think Different Bus Stop Posters. Ali, Picasso and Edison - 48 x72 - very good condition.

All I can see on internet is RARE. How do I determine an approximate value?
