Some guy (not an Apple employee) yesterday evening was trying to sell some sort of VIP card to those in the line that he said would get people straight in, I of course was dubious so didn't bite. We saw another guy that didn't make the line before they capped it take him up on the offer though so he tried to waltz up and get in, at first it looked like he might so the guy next to us went up and explained what we had seen, needless to say he was turned away! Rightfully so! The Apple staff were very curious to find the guy that was selling the cards but he had already fled.

Does anyone know what he could have possibly have been trying to sell or was it just pure BS?

The Apple store I went to did have "Line Pass" cards. I was given one since they couldn't activate my phone and told me to wait a day for processing. Most likely the guy jacked a stack of these things while no one was looking.
