I was talking to a rep who works at Virgin Mobile, he was telling me a lot of customers he has often come into get a SIM activated on the tablet plan and just use it in their iPhone's and those people just use VoIP services over 3G.

He told me that there has been a promotion going on at Virgin Mobile where you can get Unlimited Data on the Tablet Flex plan for $5+Tax per month for the first two months(not a penny more....I asked every question I could possibly regarding how it works and if it really is just $5+Tax) and its on Month to Month in terms of contract (therefore no contract)

I know Bell/Telus towers provide excellent coverage for the areas they serve compared to Rogers eventho rogers tends to have more towers....but since Bell & Telus share they offer excellent coverage and speeds (usually faster than Rogers when it comes to 3G from what I have personally tested over months)

I was thinking of doing this for one of my iPhone's and wondering if anyone else is doing this currently or has done it in the recent past because I am thinking about getting it next weekend.

Hello, so, how did it go? Did you have to activate the sim on an ipad first? Did the Virgin rep ask you any question? I'm about to try the same thing for my 3GS.
Thanks in advance! :)

Used it...went great...only issue is using voip over 3G sometimes when signal low...My two months are done now...No rep just activated and I popped the sim directly into my iPHone 4S and away I went.

Just make sure your not making any calls or texting...$0.40/minute and $0.20/text In+Out

I used mixed # of Voip Apps (Vonage, Got a Number with TextMe that includes Unlimited Texting, 647# + Bought some minutes + Paid for Ad-removal...but TextMe wasn't/isnt 100% reliable for calling..only about 80% of the time it works for calling.....texting worked fine though and got all incoming calls as well 100% of the time)
