I am based in London, and have Virgin fiber-optic broadband. I've run speed tests to show me receiving 20meg DL speed, but i've always had an intermittent service. One of virgins' technicians has most recently had to make some changes to the channels and routing of my wireless device, but it hasn't made a great difference.

When i say intermittent service, many websites take a long time to load, or will stall at 90% loaded, or the computer will be unable to open 4-5 tabs at once.

Based on my limited technical knowledge, I'm convinced the fault lies with the netscape router, and the fact that i'm using a mac.

My question is about the Airport Express. Could i a) use this instead of the wireless router and b) how likely is it to improve the connection?

I understand a little about a lot so any clarification you can give is helpful. :)
