I was wondering if anyone knows of a tool or how to make virtual drives? kinda like how alcohol 120% in windows. I want to "burn" files to a disk image rather then to a cd or copying them to a .dmg file. The mounted image needs to act as if it were a cd in the cd drive. any ideas?

thats not what i meant. i need to have an image and have it treated as if it were a physical blank cd. not a burn image, but as if it were the actual physical media that will receive a burn. Images from disk utility are meant to be burned to cd or as installers or containers for files and folder... i need an image that can have the files "burned" to it. dont think i sound to clear on this... but simply put i need to have a cd drive emulated as an actual drive.

Edit - can't you create a new disk image (can choose the size 650 for CD-RW or 700MB) and move the files to it?
