Hi all,

I am interested in running a compact virtual linux server under on my macs which will store some personal wikis and project repositories. This server will only be accessed from the local net. I want to run it inside the VM and not in the Mac OS itself as

a) I have to sync the data often ( I have a number of computers and have to travel often) - a small virtual image is most easily synchronized via SugarSync or similar

b) I don't want to hassle with custom PHP/MySql etc. packages for Mac (for example, default PHP breaks mediawiki and I don't want to pollute my system with lots of custom installs).

The problem is – I could not find any software that would do this for me. Basically, I want a VM software that would run the VM in the background (without window). I don't think that Parallels (which I use for Windows) can do that. VMWare Server looks interesting but alas it does not wok under Mac. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks
