Since the last round of updates I have been getting an awful lot more Page outs. (The system slow up made me investigate) Top shows usual happenings and no culprits, although WindowServ seems busy.
ATi iTunes quicktime 10.3.6 was the time it started and I'm just wondering what is normal in Virtual memory terms.
when running - vm_stat 1 in the terminal I can follow VM every second.
What is normal for page faults? Do you get 1000+ page faults just swapping between on screen windows? What is the normal Page out quota for an average hour?
I have 1280MB of ram and loads of disk space.
Could fragmentation do this?
What's the easiest way to check ram using OS X not including deduction Via ram removal? I have no real concern for ram, just a few people have had problems since 10.3.6, may just be coincidence and paranoia.
