I am trying to install an OEM copy of XP Home Ed with Virtual PC 6. I have followed the process of creating a new OS "Windows XP Home Edition." When I select it and then select "Start Up," a black DOS window appears with

OS not found
Install an OS on this hard drive

I then insert my virgin (but old 2002) copy of OEM XP Home and after much reading of the CD,
...... nothing happens. Microsoft didn't gain control of VPC until version 7, so I don't think VPC is checking and stopping because I'm using an OEM product on a Mac. If I use VPC's file "Open" tool to look at the CD contents, the SETUP.EXE file is ghosted and not accessible. Other folders on the CD are accessible and readable. I have also tried loading the XP CD first and then creating the new OS but there isn't success that way either. In case it matters here is my system info;
IBook 1.42 GHz, 1.5 GB mem, OS 10.5, 160 GB HD

HELP me Obiwan Kenobi,
