i just got virtual pc but really cant afford to use up the space on my internal hd.....i have a 320gb external, but it wont install on it since OS X isnt installed on it.....so can i just put in the tiger install disc, select the destination to install it at the external and i can run it off of it.....if so, how would my computer know which to boot from?

Personally if you want to save space, place the disk image bundle of your virtual pc on your external and in Virtual pc itself create a new pc (import option) or select a new disk for your pc and select the disk on the external drive. You will have to open your .vpc7 and grab the .vhdp since VPC will only expect .vhdp as drives. This is what i do.

If you wanna boot from your external drive you can insert the dvd into your drive and select your external to install on. You can switch between the two drives in system prefrences, under start up disk.
