I'm want to use Xp with VMware Fusion or VirtualBox on my intel MBP. I know I can load XP but I already have it on a HDD from my PC desktop that crashed last week. Is it possible to just add the HDD with XP on it to my external enclosure and will the MBP see it or will I have to add the HDD and then reload XP onto that.

The HDD with XP and programs is fine. I'll read throught the article and see if it helps. The mistake I made was putting XP and most of my Windows programs on the same partition so if I reload XP it will wipe out the programs. Next time I'll put windows on its own partition.

I guess I wasn't as clear as I could have been. I have a HDD from my desktop PC that the mobo fried in. The HDD is fine and has XP and lots of programs on it. Is there a way to put it in my external enclosure and run Xp from it without doing a reload / repair? Will the MBP recognize it and what will I need to download to run the Windows programs?
