Virtualbox users and external dvd drives

I had to bite the bullet and install Windows XP as a virtual machine on my new air running lion.

Unfortunately the only thing the mac can't do is 1 touch disc burn for my HD movies from my Sony cam.

I just want to make sure that if i buy this : http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-SE-...KCN2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1311690615&sr=8-1

... that the virtual box software will work with external USB dvd writers so i can do my 1 touch disc burn in windows
