I'll probably get banned for asking this but I will anyway. Yes I did use the search tool but all the posts I was reading where old.

Here goes. I just bought a new i5 iMac and was wondering if i should buy virus protection software?

or want to share files, send emails or are on the same network as someone with a windows pc and dont want to flood him /her with malware some antivirus/anti malwareprogram could be necessary if you care about windows users :rolleyes:

On both of my Bootcamp partitions, I run Microsoft Security Essentials. It's completely free and does about as good a job as anything else ever does.
