Virus Protection

hi
i bought a macbook pro and was just wondering is it worth buying anti virus protection for it, since macs dont usually get virus's or so iv heard. any one have any advice on it?

and which is best antivirus out there for a mac?

Long story short: They're not worth paying for, smart usage is your best defense.

"smart usage" doesn't stop you from collecting Windows worms and such from other people's data. if you interact with Windows computers on any regular basis, it's a good idea to have a virus scanner just to make sure you aren't giving anything to them, there's just no reason to pay for it.
