My iMac is getting painfully slow. I recently downloaded Virex 7.5 which has background scanning and file checking capabilities. Is it possible this is what is slowing down my system? If so, does anyone know how I can remove it?

Secondly, are there routine maintenance things I should be doing? I'm a former Windows guy. Should I be defragging my drive or zapping my PRAM or something? Is there a utility I can buy to help "tune up" my system?

Thanks,
Brian
