How can I tell if my touch has a virus? And if it does, how do I get rid of it? I mean, I hate to immediately think the worst, but lately safari's been crashing on a somewaht frequent basis and I'm just wondering if that's something to worry about (for the record, I have an unjailbroken 1.1.3 with January upgrade. Would upgrading to 1.1.4 help maybe?)

Yes, staying up to date with the latest software releases is better than not doing, for a number of reasons. Apple usually improve security as the main purpose of a new firmware image, but within this they also try to re-manage battery resources which in turn, sometimes, provides better battery performance of your device, and of course they try to fix or lessen the appearance of hidden bugs within the software (i.e. your mobile Safari problem).

I therefore advise you to update to iPod touch firmware 1.1.4

and proud of it, baby! Haha I am so scared to pop my mac cherry. The touch is the farthest I'll go... For now.

it's just that when you're worried that a device running OSX with absolutely 0, count 'em 0, viruses it's obvious that you're running an OS on your computer with literally hundreds of thousands of viruses written for it.

You live a life of fear and ignorance.;)
