With the visionOS 2.2 update that's set to come out next week, Apple is introducing the promised Multiview feature that will let sports fans watch up to five games at once.

The Multiview feature for the Vision Pro works with MLS and MLB games, but other sports like football and hockey are not supported at this time. Apple offers MLS and MLB games through the Apple TV+ subscription service because it has partnerships with those leagues.

The update adds SharePlay integration so that Vision Pro wearers can view live sporting events together, including multiple games at the same time.

Along with the new Multiview and SharePlay features, visionOS 2.2 introduces two new Mac Virtual Display aspect ratios, including 21:9 (wide) and 32:9 (ultrawide), which Apple says is equivalent to two 5K monitors side by side.

Other new features include the option to route audio from the Mac to the Vision Pro and support for viewing spatial photos and videos that are embedded on web pages.

visionOS 2.2 is expected to launch on Monday, December 9.

I doubt that VisionOS 2.2 will come out next Monday, since we just got beta 4 only 2-3 days ago

This sounds really interesting to me. I do love taking and spending time enjoying old spatial photos and videos I've taken. I wonder though - is there anywhere online that people are sharing spatial media?

Probably similarly to how you would do it in a sports bar: you don't, you just scan the different games until some interesting action takes place on one of the games.
makes sense, could be cool if you’re not fully focused on watching the sports, and you just have it going on while working or talking on facetime or something like that

sorry just wanna ask… how would you be able to focus on watching five sports games at the same time?
You only have one brain and can only focus on one thing at a time.

So, in the most literal sense, no human can watch anymore than one game at a time.

However, you could still constantly switch your focus between five games and then watch all of them inattentively.

Or just focus on one and then barely watch the remaining four, which is what most of us would default to unless we force ourselves to constantly switch focus. 😵‍💫

I recommend sticking to just one game. 😌

If you have a seizure disorder, or are prone to motion sickness, maybe this isn't for you…
If you're easily distracted, and/or have a short attention span, this is definitely for you…

When I did the AVP demo in the store, about a week or so after it was released, I was so motion sick for the next two hours that I couldn't even look at a tv without wanting to vomit. 🤢

If there isn't, you could be the first to set up a repo!

It really isn’t.

But our attention spans are garbage these days from all the hyper stimulation.

Most of us can’t even watch a movie without also fiddling on our phones. Absolute madness.
I'd have to have money on it to care enough when it comes to sports... I totally relate to the movie thing though. The Vision Pro actually corrects this. I watch all my TV and movies in now cus it's so much more immersive and impactful. Of course I struggle to watch anything on my tv now that I'm used to it ...

If I was Apple... I would figure a way to illuminate a border around the games that are at "an exciting point". The frame highlights are setup up to draw your interest whenever "things get interesting". Let user set a custom color set (ranking) such that if mutlple games get interesting at the same time, one can prioritize. Maybe a small audio tone as well. Once (if ever) they support this with NFL games... I might be interested in an AVP.

I want to agree with you. I really do. But this is only about MLS and MLB at this time. Those aren't the best sports to make the interestingness argument about. Sure, baseball is supposed to be as American as apple pie, but they don't want me to watch games in my area, so it's hard to care.

Same for MLS. I'm not hating on sports fans that have found it enjoyable to watch, but I'm surprised there are even as many of those as there are. What's next, cricket comes to America?

You can’t. And this is only really applicable to football. With games all starting at the same time they often commercial break at the same time and stop at halftime at the same time. It’s for degenerate gamblers betting on the games lol
