Yes, I said it. Don't act like you haven't done or thought about it. So, will visiting and watching videos do any harm to my MBP? Sorry if this is inappropriate but what better place to ask, ya know.

Most, if not all, viruses present on malicious or porn sites attack Windows PCs. Your MBP should be safe in the OSX environment.

No. Unless you install any codecs they want you to install. And if the flesh is embedded in Flash, it will rev up the CPU, thus it might get too hot.

Install these codec packs such that you know you do not need anymore codecs.

Perian
Flip4Mac
XiphQT

Then, when a prompt asks for you to install a codec, it is most likely malicious. Your MBP will be a secure Pron machine. LOL

im 12 years old and what is this?

to be extra safe ... make sure you lock your door so Mom does not walk in

Create a separate account for adult viewing to prevent such cases where you forget to clear history or something.

Please explain how watching porn could be harmful. I really need to know.

This is like asking "will using facebook be harmful to my MBP?"

Makes no sense at all.

It's true there are some shady places on the net that try to take advantage of security vulnerabilities and these are often free pr0n sites, or serial key sites, etc, or other things the average male mind can't resist clicking on.

You're already immune to majority of those because you're on a mac. But to be safe I would use noscript extension for firefox, make sure firewall is on, and private browsing mode in firefox for other obvious reasons.

I can't, but I'd much rather be safe than sorry and informed than ignorant in hopes of protecting my $1200+ investment.

Its not the watching thats harmful, its what you do with it! haha, just like FB.

A computer is in no way an investment.

A computer is in no way an investment.

Not even the ones acquired to work with? Or the ones that get rented out or are sitting in a place where one can rent time with the computer? I know they lose value over time, but they also make money when being used to earn money.

Or what about non-monetary investments? If a certain type of computer and OS saves you time, thus you can spend the won time doing other things, like spending it with friends and family?

Just make sure you stay some distance away from it when you *ahem* "conclude your session".

And keep some tissues handy, just in case.

Seriously? You are arguing over investments in a p0rn thread? :D

Porn, or however it is spelled in üöä-speak, is in investment too. As porn is often used for masturbation, and masturbation is often leading to an orgasm, and orgasms often leading to relaxation, porn can be seen as an investment into ones own health, spiritually, physiologically and psychologically.

Or one uses bananas. Or one has a fetish with tissues or socks going down the toilet, instead of going down.
