Hi,

Does anyone know if:

1) Apple Stores stock 11" MBA 128 GB but with 8GB ram.

I only want this upgrade so its not the "Ultimate" config.

2) If not can you order in-store and get it delivered in-store.

I would order online but the Apple USA store won't allow a UK billing address even for store collection.

I'm going to Florida on Saturday, so I hope there will be stock around and delivery dates of the custom orders do not get pushed back.

Thanks!

If you are in New York, then yes. They have lots of configurations in stock at Grand Central and 5th Avenue. Just go to the store. The website shows pick up orders aren't available until the 23rd. However, if you walk into a store today, chances are good that you'll walk out with what you want.

Just be aware of the slight differences between UK and US keyboards - you'll have an "@" symbol on the number 2 key, £ sign in a different place etc. Obviously you can just change your settings to a UK layout, but the physical keys won't change :)

Apple even put the keys in the wrong place on UK keyboard anyway (compared to the PC)

Biggest issue with the keyboard is the Enter key size.

But thanks for the pointer.

Will have to try my luck when I get there then.

If you're going to Orlando, I find the Apple Store in Mall At Millennia usually gets more stock than the Florida Mall Apple Store. (Or maybe they don't sell as much so stock lasts longer).

Thanks, I was considering Altamonte Mall for the same reason, and I think its 6% tax there, compared to 6.5% in some of the others I think.
