Hi,
Finally I was able to connect my imac with my laptop. I see my imac in the network device list. I can access it without any login etc. and i can access all the directories and read-write in them. Isn t it wrong ?

very strange... i stoped the service and deleted "my user name public folder" from the shared folder list . Then I added public folder again and delete smb
  • First the folder is not listed as " my username public folder" . it is just public folder
  • second now it asks me for username
