Hi.

I searched the forums, and even Google, but the focus here when it comes to RAID setups seems to revolve around either Mac only, or something compatible with Mac/PC. Perhaps my search terms were the problem, so if someone could please direct me to a thread that discusses my needs (below) I would greatly appreciate it.

Running a Mac Pro (early '08) 8-core 2.8, 14GB, GeForce 8800GT with four WD 640GB HDs. First HD is split in half, running 10.5.6 and Boot Camp with Vista x64 Home Premium. The last three HDs are intended for a RAID 0 setup. I understand the RAID 0 risks. It's not for storage, it's for capturing HD video.

All I need is a Vista-only RAID 0 setup, either software or hardware. I don't need it for Leopard.

However...

Since Vista x64 Home Premium doesn't support dynamic volumes needed for a software RAID 0 setup, would I be better off just upgrading to Vista x64 Ultimate (which does support dynamic volumes), or is there a cheap PC-only RAID card I can acquire that would serve my purpose, not break the bank, and most importantly... not cause issues with the Mac OS? Also, being limited to only 2 drives in a hardware solution is fine, if needed. Better than nothing.

Thank you.
