My friend recently installed Windows Vista Ultimate on his HP computer (3000+ Sempron, 1 GB RAM, 128 MB Ati X200). It worked ok, random windowsness appeared. For example, when Vista attempted to download the drivers for his GFX card, it would crash. We ultimately ended up going to amd.com to get the driver manually. Not too much fuss.
Yesterday he plugged in his printer (HP Laser printer), and it found the drivers automatically through Vista update thingy. Today, he tried the same with his webcam, it is some little Danish brand named Typhoon, but at least it worked under XP.
When Vista had found the drivers, he attempted to use it in MSN Live (yes, he has the latest). It said it could not find the webcam. Suddenly MSN crashed, ant not even our beloved Ctrl+Alt+Del could help him, and he held in the powerbutton to reboot. Whenever he boots, he just gets a blue screen with unreadable mixed up text. What to do?
