Hi all.
I'm looking into purchasing a new 13" MBP.
I currently use a Dell XPSM1330 with Vista home.
I only turn this machine on about 3 times a week. Almost everytime I do, Vista needs to install updates. This always seems to be a long drawn out process. I can work with it doing this in the background, but then things get pretty slow.
Just out of curiosity, does the Mac OS do as many updates as Vista?

Erm... maybe 2-3 updates a month? That's what it feels like, anyway.

They're downloaded in the background and it usually takes just a few minutes to install them when they're ready. I've never noticed the background downloading slow anything down, regardless of the speed of connection. It's all pretty great :)

while there are frequent updates to all the programs.. you can easily set the frequency software update checks for updates. and the updates are quick, easy, unintrusive.
