It appears that the Fire TV has the Apple TV beat when it comes to the functions available for the top live TV streaming apps: Sling, Vue and Directv Now.

On Apple TV, at least the apps have the 10 second skip ahead function (click on the right edge of the siri remote trackpad). However, on my main TV app, Playstation Vue, using it to scrub forward through 3 minutes of commercials is painfully tedious compared to the same function on Fire TV. What's more, if I click too fast, usually crashes the program making me have to restart it.

Anyone else experience this?

I really love the ATV4 and the Siri remote and don't want to switch over to the FTV, but my wife will never learn the jedi tricks necessary to skip through a recorded program on this remote.

There are no thumbnail previews shown during skip ahead or while scrubbing via pause and swipe. All other TVE apps as well as Netflix and Youtube enable this feature and it works exactly the same across all apps. Except when viewing VOD and DVR content on the live streaming apps.

Has anyone come across any information on when these features will be added to the apps?

I understand that the Fire TV app for PS Vue actually has scrubber thumbnails and a much more user friendly skip ahead and fast forward than does the Apple TV version of the app. So, perhaps its just a matter of time before the Apple TV app catches up.
