Visual Voicemail - Cost to Service provider

I was just wondering if anyone knew the cost, the infrastructure outlay or the tech needed (if any) to support visual voicemail.
I would think it would just all be done via the 3G or internet.

Just curious as to why in Australia only Vodafone offer VV and not any of the others.

Not sure, but you could get visual voicemail with goggle voice. I've been using it for the past week. It's ok. It doesn't catch all the words, but it's good enough to get the basic gist of the message.
