I'm looking at my service summary (downloaded from OLAM) and it reads:

Airtime minutes apply to:
Toll-free numbers
Incoming, outgoing and long distance calls
Visual voicemail

So visual voicemail counts toward our minutes...?

I don't see how as you aren't calling anyone. I do believe it counts towards data though. I would guess that this is an error.

Edit: The document found here states that a data connection is required to download visual voicemail messages.

Keep in mind though that if for some reason you call voicemail (by pressing and holding 1), this would count against your minutes.

I could be wrong though, it wouldn't be a first.

if it is an error, it's a horrible error.

I personally am not too worried about it as I just can't even imagine how my listening to a file on my iPhone would somehow count as airtime minutes. It would be like charging for airtime to listen to my tunes.

On top of that I just can't see how the network would even recognize it. In order for airtime minutes to be logged, a connection to a cell tower has to be established.

Again, I am not worried but if it causes you any heartburn call AT&T customer care and get clarification, a call can't hurt anything.
