I downloaded and installed the newest VLC player 2.0. After installing I get an error message every time I try to download DVD onto my computer using Handbrake. I get this error message below.

HandBrake could not find VLC or your VLC is incompatible (Note: 32 bit vlc is not compatible with 64 bit HandBrake and vice-versa).

After a downgrade to 1.2 VLC I was able to use Handbrake again. Anyone else having issues? What am I doing wrong?

I've downloaded both software and reinstalled, made sure both are in App folder, and both are 64bit.

Thanks for the reply.

I just checked the site and it still shows 2.0.0 version for download. I'm on an iMac.

I got the same error, I reinstalled the 32/64 bit version of VLC 2.0 and Handbrake and now it appears to be working. I will test it tonight and make sure.

I followed this but it hasn't worked for me unfortunately.
Any other solutions?

Update: It was solved when I updated both VLC and Handbrake
