Trying to fix Hubbies iPhone 5.
Just 2 years old with less than 17 hours talk tiime on it.
Its not used a lot.

iOS 9 killed the battery.
Am aware of Apple support, battery replacement etc.
No advice needed there. Last resort if all else fails on my end first. (thx anyhow)

Have fixed most of the problem but stuck with one huge drain, MUSIC.

Since i dont use this iPhone and dont want to spend time playing with it, can anyone confirm ahead of time if VLC or some other simillar muisc app can be used in place of the built in Apple choices, that will cut down battery drain considerably?

Took quick look at App store choices but most geared towards organization, radio choices, etc.
NOT my interest or hubbies.

Am hoping someone wil know if one can just use VLC instead, as it will be used simply to play music, the only real preference being that it can go through songs via the playlist and if so, take up far less resources?
Or if ther is a simple music player I am unaware of that will do the same?

Thx
