How do I get VLC to read a DVD from my external DVD drive? I only realized I needed VLC when the DVD Player from apple won't read DVDs from external sources. Lamesauce.

I did what the read me said for VLC, but nothing happens when I press play. How do you guys do it?

(basically, I just want to play a commercial dvd movie on my external dvd drive. And I don't know how to use VLC to do it.)

thanks!

Apple's dvd player works fine playing dvds on external drives - click on dvd players File menu then select "open dvd media" and navigate to your external drive and select the video-ts folder.

No problem......
