on a mid 2010 macbook pro running VMWare Fusion 8
host osx = 10.9 Mavericks
guest osx = 10.9 Mavericks
the latest VLC (2.2.1), given an avi and or mp4 file, plays the audio but no video, stays at the media select screen. QuickTime will play .mp4 videos just fine as expected.
i have reset VLC's Preferences and or changed the Video(show all) -> video -> Output Modes to automatic or osxOpenGL or CoreOpenGL... I have looked over the general Preferences for odd entries.
seems no good alternative other than VLC:
QuickTime + Perian is no longer supported past osx 10.8
NicePlayer has malware warnings
there is no option to download back revisions of a 64bit VLC other than 2.2.1
-is there another add on library for QuickTime other than Perian?
-is this a know issue with VLC and Fusion?
thanks in advance
