Hi

I read this https://wiki.videolan.org/Change_the_brightness_or_contrast_of_a_video/ but don't know howto save the video after I changed the brightness or contrast of a video

I tried Streaming/Exporting wizard. No file there.

thank you for step by step instructions.

  1. Open movie in vlc
  2. Open window > video effects (⌘ + E)
  3. Under the basic tab, check off image adjust and play with brightness (I assume you got this far before)
  4. Under vlc > preferences (⌘ + ,), click show all at the bottom
  5. Under stream output > sout stream > transcode, check off image properties filter (the last in the video section before the audio section)
  6. Hit save
  7. Open file > convert/stream
  8. For some crazy reason, you have to open the video again (or drag and drop)
  9. Choose a profile (the default works)
  10. Hit save to file and wait a bit (or grab a coffee if it is a bigger file)

This will give you a brighter movie, but this process will also make every movie you play in vlc brighter. Afterwards, you have to go to video effects again and remove the brightness option to get regular playback.

Hope this made sense.

thank you dude. It worked.

But much too complicated. Any simpler way? Maybe with other tool?

My Reply: It works well, however my audio of the new file is slightly not synchronized. So I reset all preferences in VLC (latest build) and re-followed these instructions, to no avail, same audio problem. Just noting this ... Don
