VLC, for some reason, forces the computer to use the discrete graphics processor. I downloaded gfxCardStatus, under the impression that I could force the computer to use the Intel graphics card. However, it doesn't work properly - VLC still turns on the discrete graphics card.

Does anyone have a way to force the integrated card? I'd like to reduce heat and power consumption.

I know this seems odd, but have you tried selecting "Integrated only" twice? I find that I have to select it twice before the setting actually activates and forces integrated graphics only.

Oh my God you're right. VLC is using the integrated card. Thanks!
