I have an iMac 20' (March 2009 Revision) and it is connected to an HP 2009m for dual display purposes. I also use VLC as my primary media player. When playing videos i usually put it on the HP monitor (the HP isnt my primary display). When i go full screen on the HP monitor when playing videos, my iMac goes black. I can see and move thecursor, but i cant interact with anything on the iMac's display. Anyway to work around this?

I'm not sure of a way to do that, but one possible workaround if it cannot be done might be to put VLC in wallpaper mode on the second display.

i tired but it didnt. rite now i just maximize the window on the second monitor, but i get annoyed by the control bar at the bottom and the bar with windows controls at the top

Just solved the problem.. In the VLC preference pane, go to Video, and un-tick "Black screens in Fullscreen mode"

should work very well..
