VLC, HDMI issue

Hi there,

When I connect a tv via HDMI cable to my mac vlc is unable to play sound through the tv on certain dvds. I have made sure the audio output is set to hdmi, however, when i start the film it automatically changes back to internal speakers. Some films will play out of the TV speakers, but, some will not.

Any advice will be appreciated
