I have noticed that some videos that i've downloaded from the internet play a lot better on vlc than quicktime. Is this a codec issue? I am a novice in this area and can't seem to figure out why quicktime can't compete with 3rd party software. When i watch hd clips on quicktime i get a lousy frame rate.. that same video looks awesome on vlc. I just hate the lack of options in vlc compared to quicktime though.

Thanks yoak
Movist is a great app. so far has played everything i threw at it. The only thing i dont like that the time slider doesnt work, and no option to trim clips and export. Other than that it plays everything. Thanks!

I have perian.. still cant play .ts and certain .mpg in quicktime... unless i did something wrong.
