VLC plays DVDs with mirrored video

Recently got an ATV3 so started playing around with air playing DVD from my iMac to the tv. Using VLC to play the DVD the video image is backwards, like I'm watching it in a mirror. I can't figure out how to correct it.

Suggestions?

Press CMD + E or go to Window > Video effects while viewing the DVD. Then go to the Geometry tab and tick the "Transform" box. Then select "Flip horizontally" in the drop down menu and that should correct the issue.
